A shrubby perennial that is a valued garden plant due to the masses of beautiful, tubular, pale lemon-yellow flowers held in clusters through many weeks in the summer. It prefers full sun or part-shade and average to moist soil. In colder gardens it is likely to die back to ground level each year, but in a warmer spot it will retain woody stems over winter. Phygellius can also be container grown but pots require winter protection. Up to 1m in flower, will form a wide clump in time, and a good companion for Crocosmias, originating from South Africa.
